Phone and SIM

If your phone requests a security code, refer to the following explanations to
determine what you should enter. If you forget or lose a PIN or PUK code or if
you have not received such a code, contact your service provider.
You can change the following codes: lock code, PIN code, and PIN2 code. These codes
can only include the numbers from 0 to 9.
The PUK (personal unblocking key) code is required to change a blocked PIN code.
The PUK2 code is required to change a blocked PIN2 code. If the codes are not
supplied with the SIM card, contact your service provider for the codes. The PUK
and PUK2 codes are 8 digits long.
Avoid using security codes similar to emergency numbers, such as 911, to prevent
accidental dialing of the emergency number.
PIN code request—When the PIN code request is active, the code is requested each
time the phone is switched on. Note that deactivating the PIN code request may
not be allowed by some SIM cards.
PIN code (4 to 8 digits)—The PIN code protects your SIM card against unauthorized
use. The PIN code is usually supplied with the SIM card.
After three consecutive incorrect PIN code entries, the PIN code is blocked. If the
PIN code is blocked, you need to unblock the PIN code before you can use the SIM
card again. See also the information below about the PUK code.
PIN2 code (4 to 8 digits)—The PIN2 code is supplied with some SIM cards and is
required to access some functions, such as fixed dialing numbers (FDN).
